Collaborative Expense Audit Studio
A six-module path for finance, AP, and internal audit colleagues who share one expense universe — and need a financial auditing app workflow that respects both speed and evidence.
Who this is for
Teams that already export claims somehow, but still reconcile disagreements in email. You do not need a developer seat — you need curiosity about how collaborative intelligence surfaces exceptions, and patience to write clearer notes.
Learning outcomes
- Design an intake checklist that submitters can finish without a glossary.
- Run a dual-review board with owners, due dates, and evidence links.
- Interpret merchant clusters and spike alerts without over-blocking legitimate travel.
- Document limitations when the app’s score and human judgment diverge.
Modules
Each module ends with a short artifact you keep — a board template, a note style guide, or a close-week checklist.
1. Intake that does not waste auditors
Field design, receipt expectations, and how to refuse incomplete claims without turning the helpdesk hostile.
2. Collaborative flags in the queue
Assigning, commenting, and escalating inside a shared workspace so two reviewers stop overwriting each other.
3. Pattern reading before escalation
Merchant families, weekend density, and vendor repeats — what deserves a human look versus a batch note.
4. Dual-sign-off rituals
When two signatures help, when they slow close, and how to time them around Hong Kong month-end calendars.
5. Policy drift and exception letters
Writing exceptions that auditors can defend later, including language for grey-area entertainment claims.
6. Close week with an open board
A dry-run close using anonymised sample data. You leave with a board snapshot and a retrospective agenda.
Instructor
Hannah Cho
Hannah spent a decade in shared-service finance across Hong Kong and Singapore before designing collaborative audit studios. She focuses on the social layer of expense control — who owns the next action — more than on feature tours.

Learner notes
Module 3’s merchant-cluster exercise caught a catering vendor we had been rubber-stamping. The Studio does not replace judgement — it just made our judgement visible.
Useful, though the sample data felt cleaner than our real Octopus-heavy claims. Plan extra time if your receipts are messier than the workbook.
FAQ
Do we need a specific financial auditing app installed?
No. Demonstrations use a generic collaborative workspace. Concepts transfer; button names will differ in your stack.
Can we bring live company data?
Only anonymised exports. We will refuse personally identifiable claims in the shared classroom board.
What is a real limitation of this course?
We do not certify you against any statutory audit standard, and we do not configure your production ERP. Graduates leave with habits and templates — not a plug-and-play compliance stamp.
Are refunds available?
See our Refund policy for eligibility windows before a cohort starts.
